The board would like to pass a long some information to residents about the recent inconsistencies with the trash service The previous company that serviced our neighborhood, CSI, was bought buy ESI.  As part of that acquisition process, some of the previous drivers/garbage men left the company.  They have been short staffed and also training new drivers.  It takes time for drivers to learn their new routes and run them efficiently.

The board has been working closely with ESI to make sure the trash is picked up each day as scheduled even though it may be later in the day then prior to the acquisition at times.  The board will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate action as needed. Please be patient during this transition process.

Please rake loose leaves to the curb. The grounds maintenance contractor will be conducting curb side leaf removal from the community the week of November 20th, weather permitting.

Bagged leaves will not be collect by the contractor. Bagged leaves are collected on recycling day, Wednesday, via the trash service.

There will be a second collection later in the season, approximately the week of Dec 18th

The WHOA Annual Meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 30th, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the cafeteria of the Orange Hunt Elementary School located at 6820 Sydenstricker Road Springfield, VA. The meeting is being held at Orange Hunt this year because of the construction at Newington Forrest Elementary School.

For homeowners unable to attend the meeting, a general proxy form will be included in the mailing that was sent to formally announce the Annual Meeting date. If you cannot attend, please make sure that you fill out the proxy form and give it to a member of the Board of Directors or one of your neighbors who will be attending.

All residents as well as absentee homeowners are encouraged to attend the annual meeting and to take an active part in the discussions and decisions that affect our community.

The Board contacted the trash contractor about the lack of service today. They indicated that there was a mechanical issue with the truck. If they do not finish collection today they will first thing in the morning to recover anything that was not collected.

Tomorrow is Earth Day and we are having a Community Clean up day.  Please meet at the playground at 9am.  The cleanup will go until around 11am.

The goal is to clean up any trash from the community especially in the wooded areas.  Please bring a pair of gloves if you have them.

There will be coffee and donuts as well.
