We just received the notice below from Patriot Disposal.
Unfortunately, due to labor shortage Trash service scheduled for today (Tuesday) in your communities (Alexandria, Woodbridge, Springfield, Lorton) will be picked up Wednesday, December 29th.
The curbside loose leaf collection is scheduled for the week of November 22nd, weather permitting. Please rake any leaves from your yard to the curb for the leaf vacuum. Please pay attention to the weather and only rake leaves to the curb the weekend before the collection. No bagged leaves. Bagged leaves are taken by the trash service and must be in paper bags.
A second collection will be the week of 12/20.
The annual meeting will be held at 7pm on November 11th. The meeting will be in the cafeteria of Newington Forest Elementary school. Please consider volunteering to help the neighborhood.
There are two important trash service modifications below.
- Trash pickup will be starting at 6am Friday September 3rd because of the pothole repair.
- As a result of a county change, yard waste will now be collected on regular trash days, Tuesdays and Fridays. This will be in affect for at least two months.
The crew will be here between 7am and 8am,Friday, Sept 3rd, to start work on the pothole located on Pebble Brook Court. They have said traffic should be able to get by the work area. They may have to close it for a few minutes at a time but nothing long term.
We have contacted the trash company to see if they can push back their pick up time to later in the day. We are waiting on an answer.
