Yard waste collection resumes on Wednesdays

Yard Waste collection has been moved back to a separate collection day. It will be collected on Wednesdays. Grass clippings and leaves must be set out for pickup in bio-degradable paper bags not plastic or in a trash container clearly marked “yard waste” on both sides.  Tree limbs and brush must be tied in bundles no longer than 4 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter.  Bundles or items that are bagged cannot exceed 50 pounds.  Yard waste does not include stumps, rocks, dirt, sod, gravel, mulch, whole trees, or clean-up from storm damage.  Collection of these items may be provided for an additional charge.

Annual Community Yard Sale June 4th

The annual Woodstream community yard sale is held the first Saturday of June. This year the sale will be held on June 4th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Residents are encourage to set up along Magic Leaf Road for the most exposure. This is a good way to clean out stuff you no longer need and keep it out of the trash.

Christmas Tree Pick up

Christmas Trees will be picked up 1/7, weather permitting and on trash days (Tues & Fri) next week. Do not put them in bags and please make sure trees are free from tensile and all decorations.

Trash service delayed

We just received the notice below from Patriot Disposal.
Unfortunately, due to labor shortage Trash service scheduled for today (Tuesday) in your communities (Alexandria, Woodbridge, Springfield, Lorton) will be picked up Wednesday, December 29th.

Leaf Collection

The curbside loose leaf collection is scheduled for the week of November 22nd, weather permitting. Please rake any leaves from your yard to the curb for the leaf vacuum. Please pay attention to the weather and only rake leaves to the curb the weekend before the collection. No bagged leaves. Bagged leaves are taken by the trash service and must be in paper bags.


A second collection will be the week of 12/20.
